YFU Austria (Youth for Understanding Austria) is a non-profit organization and part of an international educational network with partners in more than 60 different countries. It is active in the field of cross-cultural education and promotes understanding through long-term student exchange programs as well as host family programs. YFU Austria also offers an educational program called "Coloured Glasses"​. The program focuses on intercultural understanding, cultural identity, stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination, as well as human rights. The topics are taught in free workshops for teenagers and young adults. From 2018-2019 the program is part of the EU project ACLEV ("Active Citizens Living European Values"​), from 2017-2018 it has been part of another EU Project called "CGrow: Expanding intercultural Education Project"​.

YFU Nederland is een organisatie die jongeren al ruim 60 jaar de mogelijkheid biedt op uitwisseling te gaan en te wonen bij een lokaal gastgezin. Op deze manier leren zij o.a. een andere cultuur kennen en een vreemde taal spreken. Buitenlandse scholieren volgen de omgekeerde route, waardoor Nederlandse gastgezinnen de kans krijgen om een andere wereld te ontdekken aan de eigen keukentafel.

YFU STANDS FOR "YOUTH FOR UNDERSTANDING» We believe that the international youth exchange can make a concrete contribution to greater tolerance and understanding between different cultures. YFU IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION YFU is one of the largest non-profit exchange organizations worldwide. Our goal is not to make money, but to enable as many young people as possible, a unique opportunity for a youth exchange. We make a profit, we invest it in new scholarships. MAKE THE WORLD YOUR HOME YFU promotes intercultural understanding, mutual respect and social responsibility through education-oriented youth exchange, families, schools, and their common world. YFU organizations worldwide are working with the same high quality standards and the common values and goals of all YFU organizations are recorded in our mission statement.
