YWCA Northeast Kansas was founded November 19, 1887 by a group of women seeking to enhance and elevate women’s lives “physically, mentally, morally and spiritually.” Today, we are a unique and vital community resource in the greater Topeka community committed to eliminating racism and empowering women. Not only does YWCA Northeast Kansas provide crucial services to women, children, and families – we are widely recognized as a thought leader on the issues of racial justice and the advancement of women. We provide transformative services in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking; early childhood education, youth services, healthy lifestyles, and leadership, inclusion, advocacy and racial justice initiatives.

YWCA NorthEastern NY is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, standing up for social justice, helping families, and strengthening communities. YWCA NorthEastern NY achieves this mission by providing comprehensive domestic violence support services, affordable housing for low-income women, high quality accredited Early Childhood education, economic empowerment solutions, and health and wellness classes inclusive of all community members. Since its beginnings in 1888, YWCA NorthEastern NY has served women and families in Schenectady and the surrounding region. Throughout its 130-year history, YWCA NENY has been a constant innovator in providing programs and services to meet the changing needs of the community. Every year, YWCA NENY serves nearly 7,000 individuals and families throughout the Greater Capital Region.

In its more than more than 100 year history, the YWCA has always had as its purpose the provision of programs and services that meet the needs of women and children. The YWCA is the leading women's organization in the Pennsylvania Capital region, serving Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry Counties. It is fulfilling its mission to empower women and children, especially those whose circumstances impact their safety, security or future success.
