Projekti võetakse osalema inimesed, kellel on kõrgharidus või tehnilise eriala kutse ja töökogemused, aga kes pole õppinud IT-d ega tööta IT valdkonnas. Osalejatele õpetatakse kuidas: -kavandada toote (rakenduse, süsteemi osa) ja selle arhitektuurilisi lahendusi; -kirjutada programmikoodi; -integreerida loodud rakendusi teiste süsteemiosadega; -testida rakendusi; -juurutada ja paigaldada lahendusi; -dokumenteerida lahendusi, hallata dokumendi (ja süsteemi) muudatuste jada; -osaleda nii iseseisvas kui ka meeskonnapõhises tarkvaraarendustöös; -osaleda arendusprotsessis erinevates tööviisides ja rollides. Ootame „Vali IT!“ programmiga liituma kõiki tarkvaraarendusega tegelevaid ettevõtteid ja asutusi, kes on huvitatud antud projektis osalejatele praktikakohtade pakkumisest ja omale uute töötajate leidmisest.
