Værnesregionen er det interkommunale samarbeidet mellom kommunene Frosta, Malvik, Meråker, Stjørdal, Selbu og Tydal. Stjørdal kommune er vertskommune for samarbeidet. Værnesregionen som samarbeidsprosjekt ble igangsatt i 2003, etter at kommunenes rådmenn så behovene og mulighetene for et samarbeid. 29. oktober 2003 undertegnet ordførerne i fem av kommunene en intensjonsavtale med formål om å utvikle tettere samarbeid og samhandling for å sikre et godt service- og tjenestetilbud. Frosta sluttet seg til avtalen i 2006, og høsten 2006 vedtok de seks kommunestyrene vedtektene for regionsamarbeidet i Værnesregionen. Intensjonene med Værnesregionen er å gi innbyggerne i kommunene bedre tjenester. Samarbeidet i Værnesregionen skal gi: • Bedre tjenester til innbyggerne til lavest mulig kostnad. • Robuste fagmiljøer, som skal gi kvalitet i tjenesteproduksjonen og trygghet i saksbehandlingen. • Attraktive fagmiljø for arbeidssøkende. • Sammensveiset region som møter framtiden. • Interkommunalt samarbeid i stedet for kommunesammenslåing

Dit voornamelijk in opdracht van lagere overheden (gemeenten), onderwijsinstellingen, woningbouwcorporaties en (institutionele) beleggers. Tot het productgamma behoren o.a.: - (top-)sporthallen en sportzalen - turnaccommodaties - zwembaden (nieuwbouw en renovatie) - scholen (SO, BO en VO) - club- en kleedgebouwen - fitnesscentra - (overdekte) ijsbanen - brandweerkazernes en gemeentewerven Projecten worden gerealiseerd op basis van innovatieve contractvormen waarbij naar wens naast het ontwerp en de uitvoering ook de risicodragende exploitatie, het contractonderhoud, de risicodragende verduurzaming, het risicodragend energiebeheer en de herontwikkeling van vrijkomende locaties kunnen worden betrokken. Vaessen heeft inmiddels meer dan 1.000 referentieprojecten gerealiseerd in bovengenoemd marktsegment. Dit in opdracht van meer dan 300 Nederlandse Gemeenten, de Ministeries van Justitie en Defensie, onderwijsbesturen, vier Nederlandse Universiteiten en grote ondernemingen zoals Shell en Koninklijke Wegener. Het meest aansprekende project in de portefeuille van de onderneming is onmiskenbaar Sportcomplex Koning Willem-Alexander in de Gemeente Haarlemmermeer. Met een oppervlak van 22.000 m2 indoor-sport en een omvang van ca. EUR 50.000.000,- een van de grootste en duurzaamste sportprojecten van Nederland.
