Education and information are deeply ingrained in UCLA’s DNA. Nearly a century ago, a small Los Angeles “branch” of the University of California opened its doors as a teaching college to meet the needs of a rapidly growing metropolis. Today, we continue to build on this legacy at the UCLA School of Education & Information Studies by doing fundamental work on what matters most in education and information studies in the 21st century: the discovery and application of usable knowledge at the crossroads of policy and practice. We are home to sixteen nationally renowned research centers, two groundbreaking partnership schools, and some of the world’s premiere education and information experts. This where the most pressing issues in education and information are transformed by UCLA and strategic partners into opportunity and real-world solutions.

The vision of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television is to serve as a premier global interdisciplinary professional school that develops outstanding humanistic storytellers, industry leaders and scholars whose diverse, innovative voices enlighten, engage and inspire change for a better world. Consistently ranked as one of the top elite entertainment and performing arts institutions in the world, the School offers an innovative curriculum that integrates the study and creation of live performance, moving image media and the digital arts. Our distinguished graduate and undergraduate programs include acting, directing, writing, producing, animation, cinematography, lighting design, set design, costume design and sound design, and offers PhDs in Theater and Performance Studies and Cinema & Media Studies.

Studio 22 is a multi-media resource center located in the DeNeve building under UCLA Residential Lifes Learning Centers. We offer opportunities for student development, through experimental learning. Our mission is to provide programs for UCLA students that offer training in media production, a community developed around media arts, educational workshops, and career development opportunities. Last year we launched our highly anticipated Multi-Media Artists Collective (MMAC) program, which allows students and staff members to have hands on experience in video production, photography, and music production. With our membership pool sitting at about 300 active MMAC members, Studio 22 has helped launch student film projects, earn students Hollywood employment/internships, and gain media literacy for both UCLA students and staff. We have dedicated staff who are trained and experienced in video and music production, social media, graphic design, photography, and more.

We recruit and support students who display a passion for scientific knowledge and a life-long commitment to research and leadership. We are additionally committed to the recruitment and training of students from disadvantaged backgrounds and ethnic groups that are under-represented in the sciences, and students with disabilities.

Genom att vara lyhörda för hur teknik förändras i förhållande till beteenden, men också genom en så enkel sak som att vi alltid vågar rekommendera det som faktiskt passar bäst för varje kund, trots att detta kanske inte var vad kunden såg framför sig i ett första skede. Vi vill nämligen att alla ska kunna ha ett arbete anpassat efter just deras situation och deras liv. Och för att insikten om att det kanske finns ett ännu bättre sätt att göra saker på kommer fortsätter att guida oss, oavsett vad vi väljer att göra imorgon.
