The University of South Carolina Joesph F. Rice School of Law has a more than 150-year tradition of excellence, but we are far from traditional. Our program emphasizes a hands-on approach that leads to a cutting-edge understanding and application of the law. Our low tuition and our high bar passage and employment rates are just a few of the reasons that USC Law has been so successful. In fact, the class of 2012 graduates beat the national employment average by double digits.

USC SOM was established in 1974 to improve health of South Carolinians by augmenting the state’s physician workforce. Over the past four decades, we have become a nationally recognized leader in primary care education, and about one-half of our graduates have chosen to practice in South Carolina. Our school has grown in size and complexity, with programs in genetic counseling, nurse anesthesia, rehabilitation counseling, and physician assistantship joining our medical training programs. Our biomedical science degree graduates are becoming the next generation of scientists who will identify tomorrow’s cures for today’s toughest health care problems. Even as we have grown, our students and faculty tell us that we have maintained a personable, nurturing environment, where every student matters, and where we treat each other like family. As we look to the future, we want to think big while staying connected as if we were small.
