Hagenberg is located approximately 20 km north-east of the city of Linz. The Hagenberg Campus of the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences is part of the "Softwarepark Hagenberg", which also hosts several university research departments and software companies. The University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons is an innovative and entrepreneurial higher education institution with over 2,000 students. The university’s history dates back to 1963 with the foundation of the «Abendtechnikum Chur», a technical college offering evening courses.
