The mission of Sandcastle is to provide a full range of clinical services within a child’s educational settings, inclusive of all skill levels and abilities. educators, clinicians, staff, and families work together to nurture and support children so that they may thrive throughout school and beyond. Sandcastle is a private, non-profit agency founded in 1996. Our growing staff of professionals serve approximately 600 families annually. In September, 2010, we opened the doors of a new facility, proudly serving our community. Sandcastle Clinical and Educational Services Provides clinical services to people of all ages as well as providing early education to all children in inclusive classrooms with a minimum of 2 educators, with at least one teacher qualified with a Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field. The curriculum for each classroom is organized to provide optimum educational opportunities in social and emotional competency, independent skills, reasoning and problem solving, fine and gross motor development, language and communication, emergent literacy skills, and opportunities for creative development. We provide opportunities for early education from 2 days to 5 days each week, and from one 2.5 hour class each day to 6 hours. Our facility is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is considered a “Quality Site” by the State of Maine. We are an inclusive program, and all children may be supported in our classrooms regardless of ability or disability. Our classrooms are limited to 10 children, and each child receives individualized care.
