The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is committed to providing an education that transforms our students artistically, intellectually, professionally and individually. San Francisco Day School (SFDS) is a kindergarten through eighth grade coeducation school. The SFDS mission is to educate, nurture and inspire girls and boys of diverse backgrounds to achieve their highest academic and creative potential, to embrace ethical values and to become active contributors to their communities. The School supports teachers to develop their skills continually through professional growth activities. Faculty develop innovative approaches to curriculum, based upon current educational research, best practices, and knowledge of state and national standards. To assure excellence, a rigorous curriculum review process incorporates outside consultants, visits to model programs in other schools, research and self-examination. Diversity is an important component of the academic excellence of the School. In a school committed to a diverse student body, students learn life lessons of understanding, acceptance, appreciation of differences and the common ground that unites all. Learning occurs both within and outside the confines of the School. Students learn to cooperate on the athletic fields, in classroom projects, and as leaders in the school community. They grow to understand their place in the broader community through a service learning program linked closely to the curriculum. They see their relationship with the natural world through an extensive outdoor education program.

The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions – the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health. The San Francisco Health Network is the City's only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including San Francisco General Hospital Medical Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers. With a broad community focus, the ultimate goal of the Population Health Division is to ensure that San Franciscans have optimal health and wellness at every stage of life, and, to achieve this, the Division is comprised of various branches dedicated to core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco, such as health protection and promotion, disease and injury prevention, disaster preparedness and response, and environmental health services.

Taking inspiration from the Bay Area's rich culture of innovation and creativity, the San Francisco Film Society supports the imagination, talent and professional sustainability of filmmakers, works to build a robust community of engaged, curious and diverse audiences and designs programs that enrich, educate and entertain, including the San Francisco International Film Festival each spring.

With beginnings paralleling the growth and development of the San Francisco Bay Area, the origins of the San Francisco Flower Mart go back to the late 1800’s when land was plentiful. Local flower growers could bring their product to Lotta’s fountain in downtown San Francisco three days a week, selling their product to local flower shops. A need for a centrally located market bringing together the three ethnically diverse groups of flower growers was fulfilled with the opening of a market located at 5th and Howard Streets in 1924. As flower growers expanded production areas outside of the Bay Area and as product from other parts of United States came in, the need for a larger more modern permanent facility led to the design and construction of our current market at Sixth and Brannan Streets in the South of Market area of San Francisco. The grand opening of the San Francisco Flower Terminal in September 1956 marked the establishment of an industry icon. Today, officially known as the San Francisco Flower Mart, we now have over 60 vendors, purveyors of cut flowers, potted plants, blooming plants and floral supplies. We have evolved from being a “growers” market to being a marketplace for floral wholesalers. Product, which at one time was only from the immediate Bay Area, now comes from the far reaches of the world.

Founded in 1978, the San Francisco Girls Chorus and the Chorus School have become a regional center for choral music education and performance for girls and young women ages 7-18. More than 360 singers from 160 schools in 44 Bay Area cities participate in this internationally recognized program, deemed “a model in the country for training girls’ voices” by the California Arts Council. Each year, the dedicated young artists of The San Francisco Girls Chorus present a full concert season, tour nationally or internationally, and appear annually with renowned artistic partners, such as San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Symphony.
