Die Firma wurde 1977 von der Familie Mayer (die Eltern der heutigen Inhaber) als TEFA Zweiradsport gegründet. Der Sitz war in Leonbergs Stadtmitte. Viola und Joachim Mayer haben die Firma in der zweiten Generation übernommen, und seit 1995 ist das Ladengeschäft in der Berliner Straße ansässig. Im Laufe der Jahre wurde das Geschäft ständig vergrößert und ist mit den mittlerweile 30 Mitarbeitern auf 1500 qm Fläche aktiv. Ein wichtiger Schritt zum heutigen Erfolg war, dass sich das Radcenter schon vor vielen Jahren dem Thema E-Bike geöffnet und sich mittlerweile stark darauf spezialisiert hat. Dieser neue Weg der alternativen Mobilität wurde schon frühzeitig erkannt und mittlerweile verfügt das Rad- und E-Bike-Center über rund 600 qm Ausstellungsfläche nur für E-Bikes und darüber hinaus auch über ein großes Lager. Damit E-Bikes und Fahrräder immer flott bleiben, hat das Rad- und E-Bike-Center auch eine große Werkstatt für schnelle und ordentliche Reparaturen. Die Werkstattmitarbeiter sind durch viele Schulungen und viel Erfahrung prädestiniert für hochwertige Arbeiten an allen hauseigenen und gängigen Antriebssystemen, weshalb die Werkstatt sowohl TÜV zertifiziert ist, als auch das Gütesiegel Bosch E-Bike Expert trägt. Bei Inspektionen im Winter bietet die Werkstatt für im E-Bike Center Leonberg gekaufte E-Bikes auch einen Hol- und Bring-Service, was die Instandhaltung des hochwertigen Fahrzeugs leicht und bequem macht. Für die Besucher gibt es ausreichend kostenlose Parkplätze vor dem Radcenter und im Innenhof. Leicht und bequem haben es die Kunden auch bei vielen anderen Aspekten. Als 25-jähriges Mitglied der ZEG, Europas größter Einkaufs-Genossenschaft für Zweiräder, bietet das Rad- und E-Bike-Center ein umfangreiches Programm in allen Bereichen des Zweirads.
