Local Government Common Services (LGCS) is a joint venture between several Councils in Southern Tasmania. LGCS was setup to provide under resourced Councils with the ability to provide quality, equitable service provision to their communities and to enable Councils to realise savings through increased uitilisation of staff. The way it works: Councils with a gap in human resources or skill shortage have the ability to hire suitably qualified and experienced professionals from other participating Councils. This service is facilitated and managed by Local Government Professional Services. LGCS provides Client Councils with ability to acquire specialist skills to deliver a higher level of service, than would ordinarily be possible, without the associated financial risk of hiring additional permanent staff. LGCS also enables Provider Councils with the ability to increase the utilisation of their employees and earn additional revenue for their respective organisations. The State of Florida is divided into 20 geographical areas known as Judicial Circuits. Each circuit has an elected State Attorney. The 20th Judicial Circuit, formed in 1969, consists of five counties: Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee. It is the largest circuit, geographically, in the state. Under our Florida Constitution, the State Attorney serves as the prosecutor, representing the people in criminal courts throughout the circuit. The Office of the Victorian Government Architect (OVGA) is a leader in enhancing the quality of built environments and is an independent voice for Victorian design. Located within the Department of Transport and Planning, the OVGA provides leadership and strategic advice to government about architecture and urban design and promotes an awareness about how good design can make great living places and urban environments. Victoria has a global reputation for design excellence in the built environment and this is extended and enriched through the government's support of high quality design outcomes. The OVGA provides advice, advocacy and collaborative services to the Victorian community. ADVICE The Office of the Victorian Government Architect provides strategic advice to government about architecture and urban design. Where requested by ministers, we provide advice on specific projects or initiatives. We advise state departments, agencies and local government on how to improve design outcomes for capital works programs, individual projects and broader planning initiatives. ADVOCACY We promote an awareness of the importance of good design including the process of making great places and sustainable urban environments. COLLABORATIONS OVGA fosters partnerships and collaborations among government, professional, academic, industry and community bodies to maximise excellent design outcomes in the built environment.
