NSCC Singapore was established in 2015 and manages Singapore’s first national petascale facility with available high performance computing (HPC) resources. As a National Research Infrastructure funded by the National Research Foundation (NRF), we support the HPC research needs of the public and private sectors, including research institutes, institutes of higher learning (IHLs), government agencies and companies. With the support of its stakeholders, NSCC catalyses national research and development initiatives, attracts industrial research collaborations and enhances Singapore’s research capabilities. NSCC’s current stakeholders include Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) and Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine Singapore (TCOMS). NSCC has been tasked to leverage HPC to advance Singapore’s strategic interests, boost national initiatives and facilitate industry transformation using HPC in areas like visualisation, modelling, simulation, big data analytics and artificial intelligence. As a national strategic technological platform, NSCC has the mandate to enhance industry competence, capacity and competitive advantage in the use of HPC in all relevant fields such as computational science, analytics, engineering, advanced manufacturing, genomics, biomedicine and healthcare, among many others. NSCC is thus keen to work with domain experts and coordinators in various Research & Development fields to achieve its aims. NSCC is committed to helping educational institutions train future generations of HPC-enabled workforce to help Singapore maintain its competitiveness. National Taichung University of Science and Technology (NTCUST; Chinese: 國立臺中科技大學) is a top tier technical university located in North District, Taichung, Taiwan. In Taiwan it is also known as 臺中科大 (tái zhōng kē dà). In central Taiwan, the university is known for its business school, which has produced thousands of business leaders in central Taiwan, especially in Taiwan early time when the business education was highly needed. The university began as two separate universities, National Taichung Institute of Technology (國立臺中技術學院) and National Taichung Nursing College (國立臺中護理專科學校). National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) was established in 1953 as Provincial Taiwan Maritime Technology College. Eleven years later, in 1964, we became a maritime college that offered bachelor's and master's degrees in various maritime fields. During this period, the college was supported by the Taiwan Provincial Government of the Republic of China. In 1979, we became a national institution, and were renamed the National Taiwan College of Marine Science and Technology. A decade later, in 1989, the college became a full-fledged university. At present, NTOU has six colleges - Maritime Science and Management, Life Sciences, Ocean Science and Resource, Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as Humanities and Social Sciences. These Colleges house a total of 29 undergraduate departments and graduate institutes. As we look at the progress over the past 61 years, the University has undergone a great growth and change and is now recognized as one of the nation's most important centers of high learning and scholarship, especially in the marine sciences,maritime studies,and fisheries. Responding to the changing needs of society and the widening interests of our students, we are developing into a comprehensive university with a unique maritime focus. We aim to be an internationally known institution of higher education. Towards this end, our social sciences and liberal arts programs are developing as a core part of education at NTOU. Founded in 1928 as Taihoku Imperial University, our university has gone through a series of transformations to “National Taiwan University” named in 1945.
