Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis (LIOS) is a public research institute which possesses a broad spectrum of drug discovery and development process expertise including medicinal chemistry, organic synthesis, in vitro and in vivo pharmacology, bioanalytical studies, computational modelling, and process chemistry. Privatizācijas aģentūra dibināta 1994.gada 22.aprīlī kā bezpeļņas organizācija, valsts akciju sabiedrība. 2004.gada 1.novembrī Privatizācijas aģentūras juridiskais statuss mainījās. Pildot Komerclikuma normas, aģentūra kļuva par valsts akciju sabiedrību un tika ierakstīta komercreģistrā. Privatizācijas aģentūras darbības veids ir valsts īpašuma objektu privatizācijas nodrošināšana saskaņā ar likumu "Par valsts un pašvaldību īpašuma objektu privatizāciju". Kopš 2009.gada 1.jūlija Privatizācijas aģentūra veic arī dzīvojamo māju privatizācijas pabeigšanas darbības saskaņā ar likumu Par valsts un pašvaldību dzīvojamo māju privatizāciju, kā arī vairākas citas likvidētās Būvniecības, enerģētikas un mājokļu aģentūras funkcijas, tajā skaitā valsts dzīvokļu un dzīvojamo māju pārvaldīšanu līdz to nodošanai pašvaldībām vai dzīvokļu īpašniekiem.
