Joyce Frankland Academy, Newport is a mixed comprehensive secondary school with approximately 1,000 pupils on roll aged 11 to 18. The school is one of the oldest in Essex being founded in 1588, the year of the Armada. Since 1588 our core purpose has been to fully prepare our young people for their life ahead, they are our ambassadors and our future. Our mission has always been to educate the young people of Newport, Saffron Walden to be exemplary members of the community through academic rigour, challenge, creativity, opportunity and respect.
