Todo avanza, todo va muy rápido Pero la disminución de la biodiversidad, la desaparición de las grandes selvas, bosques, fauna, el deterioro de los océanos, es un indicador de que la humanidad no ha logrado desarrollar un modelo de desarrollo responsable para la conservación de los recursos naturales del planeta. La industria alimentaria está directamente relacionada con el deterioro de la biodiversidad. Se explotan, y devastan, los recursos naturales para generar alimentos de una forma totalmente agresiva con nuestro planeta. Pero también agresiva con las personas, porque esta industria está basada en el uso generalizado de agentes químicos (fertilizantes, herbicidas, abonos, pesticidas) para fabricar alimentos que luego consumimos sin mesura ni control. Jícara Drinks es un proyecto que nace con alma, con respeto y con responsabilidad. Con alma, porque nuestros productos son únicos, en algunos casos con producciones limitadas y con una materia prima muy exclusiva. Se elaboran con mimo, cuidando cada mínimo detalle para crear algo excepcional por su calidad y sabor. Porque nuestros productos se elaboran desde la naturaleza, sin química que los altere a lo largo del proceso hasta ser embotellados. Con respeto por el planeta, porque desde la materia prima, cultivada de forma natural sin emplear agentes químicos y sin alterar la biodiversidad, hasta el proceso integro de elaboración, se mantienen exhaustivos controles para poder obtener la certificación de producto bio/orgánico. Con respeto por las personas, porque nuestros productos incluyen certificaciones fairtrade, obtenidas desde el respeto por el comercio justo con las personas que intervienen en los procesos de elaboración desde las mismas plantaciones de la materia prima. Con responsabilidad, porque queremos trasladar nuestro mensaje a la sociedad. Consumiendo productos bio/orgánicos cuidamos del planeta, cuidamos de las personas que intervienen en su elaboración, y cuidamos de nuestra salud.

Jidvei is the most famous Romanian producer of premium dry and medium dry white wines. Based in the heart of Transylvania, Jidvei’s vineyards spread on more than 2500 hectares alongside the Tarnave River, in one of the country’s oldest wine regions. It was the wine-making skill the German population brought in the 16th century, together with the specific terroir of the region, very similar to the one in Germany, which gave the Tarnave region the name of “Weinland” - Wine country. Most varieties cultivated here are white: Feteasca Regala, Feteasca Alba, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Muscat Ottonel, while the red grape varieties include Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The company is privately owned since 1999, but it’s history begins in 1949 when a state owned company was set up. It was during the communist period that Jidvei became a standard of quality for white wines, not only in Romania, but also abroad, as Jidvei wines were one of the products with great export value. It is now a family business, with the third generation already involved in the company’s management and it is considered one of the most successful authentic Romanian brands, its products being a true standard of quality, but its scale making it one of the largest winemaking companies with single private ownership. Since its privatization, Jidvei grew constantly in terms of quantity - from 1000 to over 2500 hectares of vineyard and over 10 million bottles sold worldwide, and quality - over 90% of its products have Denomination of Controlled Origin. Jidvei currently owns four winemaking facilities: Jidvei, Blaj, Balcaciu and Tauni. The main winemaking center is JIDVEI, with a total capacity of 17.5 million liters and two bottling lines. It is here that the largest winemaking team works and where most of the wines go through the final stages before being bottled.
