Jeelo staat voor Je Eigen Leeromgeving. En heeft als doel meer leerlingen meer te laten leren. Jeelo-scholen werken aan drie pijlers: • Samen leven. Ze staan midden in de samenleving door samenwerking met organisaties. • Samen werken. Leerlingen werken samen in doorlopende ontwikkellijnen aan 21ste-eeuwse vaardigheden. • Zelfstandig leren. Leerlingen leren leren en werken aan hun eigen ontwikkeldoelen. Jeelo heeft 12 projecten voor groep 1 tot en met 8 over 12 maatschappelijk relevante onderwerpen. Indien gewenst doen peuters en BSO mee aan de projecten. Jeelo is met deze 12 projecten methodevervangend voor aardrijkskunde en topografie, geschiedenis en erfgoed, natuur en milieu, wetenschap en technologie, kunstzinnige oriëntatie en muziek, leefstijl en burgerschap, mediawijsheid, studievaardigheden, EHBO, verkeer en begrijpend lezen. Ook de content van taal, spelling en grammatica is beschikbaar. Rekenen en Engels zijn in ontwikkeling. Jeelo werkt permanent aan de ontwikkeling van het curriculum en is daardoor altijd actueel. Dankzij de digitale leeromgeving Mijn Jeelo – een leeromgeving, leerlingvolgsysteem en portfolio ineen – kun je altijd en overal bij de projecten. Dus ook thuis. Niet alleen de leerkrachten, maar ook leerlingen en hun ouders kunnen altijd en overal de ontwikkellijnen voor kennis, competenties, taal en rekenen van de leerling volgen. De leerling bouwt een portfolio op voor overdracht naar het voortgezet onderwijs. Zo krijgen leerlingen regie over wat ze leren. Om dit te realiseren werken we vanuit een community. De Jeelo-community is een samenwerkingsverband van: • maatschappelijke organisaties die weten wat de actualiteit is, wat er speelt in de wereld; • scholen die de beleving en de ontwikkeling van leerlingen kennen; • onderwijsexperts die onderzocht hebben hoe je effectief en efficiënt leerdoelen bereikt. De community werkt zonder winstoogmerk, onafhankelijk van subsidies en binnen de financiële middelen die scholen hebben.
