In 1985, JAKEL opened a branch in Segamat, Johor. With additional capital of RM500,000, we expanded to increase our presence in retail and expand the supply of textiles to the Government Agencies and Private Suppliers. The business continued to grow despite the economic turmoil that swept around the year 1997. JAKEL has changed the perception of the Bumiputera community, especially in the textile business, previously monopolized by foreign nations, but is now led by Bumiputera. Aimed at opening one branch in each state, JAKEL now has 16 branches throughout the country to provide the best fabric choices to meet the needs of Malaysian society.

The company is owned by eleven Finnish media companies - Alma Manu Ltd, Sanoma Media Finland Oy, Keskisuomalainen Oyj, Kaleva Oy, TS Group, Mediatalo ESA Oy, Ilves Jakelu Oy, SLP-Jakelu Oy, Keski-Pohjanmaan Kirjapaino Oy and Marva Media Oy. Our network employs around 3000 part-time deliverers in Finland. We reach more than 50% of Finnish households with our early-morning delivery routes.

La Jakin nasce nel 1992. Da marzo 2013 entra a far parte del gruppo Digital Engineering. Nel corso di questi anni matura profonde esperienze soprattutto in due ambiti: Business Intelligence e Formazione. Dal 2000 il personale Jakin, già certificato MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer), entra in stretto contatto con lazienda Business Objects (oggi SAP Business Objects, dopo la acquisizione da parte appunto di SAP nel 2007). Lesperienza di consulenza e formazione sviluppata con le soluzioni BI di Microsoft si è da allora espansa a tutta la suite SAP BO. Contestualmente la partnership stretta in ambito formativo con la Cegos Italia ha permesso una maturazione in ambito della formazione sia tecnica che manageriale. Nel corso degli anni sono state iniziate delle attività di studio e crescita professionale in entrambi i poli che oggi costituiscono il core business aziendale.
