Habinteg Housing Association (Ulster) Ltd, founded in 1976, is a registered housing association in Northern Ireland. We plan, develop and manage ‘integrated’ housing schemes in both urban and rural areas throughout the region and work with a number of partner organisations in providing supported housing projects. We have a voluntary Board and approx. 100 members of staff, the majority of whom work in our head offices in Holywood. We have a North West regional office in Derry/Londonderry and a further 18 residential or scheme based staff work away from the offices at our larger developments. Habinteg’s Vision - ‘Homes | Lives | Communities’ - encapsulates the Association’s central aim of improving living conditions through providing housing which combines a range of dwelling types - family houses, apartments and bungalows - in order to appropriately meet the needs of the widest range of users, including older persons and persons with a disability. Habinteg’s quality, sustainable developments include large and medium sized suburban housing developments, inner city apartments, rural properties and specialised housing schemes. Partnership projects include sensitively designed housing with care schemes, temporary accommodation for people who are homeless, and housing initiatives for people with additional support needs. The Association currently has over 2000 units at housing schemes across Northern Ireland and 18 partnership projects which provide more than 300 units or bed-spaces. The standard and quality of these developments has been recognised at local and national level with an impressive list of high profile awards, including the UK Housing Award for Outstanding Achievement in Social Housing in Northern Ireland, the RICS Award for the Northern Ireland region and NIHE Housing Council Award for Best Scheme in Northern Ireland. Habinteg is a Customer Service Excellence organisation with Investor in People Silver status.
