Founded in 2010, FACE started out as an OHS&T consultant company in the mining industry. As FACE continued to develop, we introduced labour-hire and recruitment and mechanical services to offer an integrated service for mining operations. It is reflecting back to someone the things they are saying and helping them to make sense of them. My approach My emphasis is invariably on change. I provide a positive influence at what can be a challenging time. I am action-focused and forward looking, seeking to understand motivations and beliefs which drive behaviour. I use psychometric tools and 360 feedback to build credibility, improve performance and realise potential. My style is heavy on the listening, asking insightful questions to enlighten the client's thinking. For an individual, coaching aims at clarity and focus, working with strengths and building the confidence to take control of their situation. OUR MISSION Face It, through educational programs and other public initiatives, helps men understand the risks associated with depression and works with those who are depressed find a path to recovery. PHILOSOPHY The needs of men with clinical depression are unique, misunderstood, and often ignored. Men are far less likely than women to recognize, admit, or seek treatment for their depression. Additionally, men often reject the notion of taking an antidepressant and/or seeing a counselor thus often leaving them without any other formal treatment options to consider. Research is continually demonstrating that mild to moderate depression responds well to lifestyle changes such as routine exercise, appropriate sleep, increased socialization, balanced diet, and stress management. For men with more severe depression the use of an antidepressant, along with counseling, and lifestyle changes are critical. In order for a man to move beyond his depression, it is critical to use a multi-faceted approach. This approach incorporates the support of family, friends, community, the workplace, places of worship, recreational activities and lifestyle changes. It also requires peer-support, self-examination, and a pledge of personal accountability to be honest with himself about the behaviors, attitudes and activities he engages in that impair his ability to beat his depression.
