Advances in diagnostic technologies enable earlier disease interventions, tailored precisely to each patient’s condition which are designed to minimize the impact on quality of life and patient function, accelerating healing. Neurosurgery is at the forefront of these advances with minimally invasive tools for brain and spine procedures, image-guided and endovascular approaches, liquid biopsy and biomarker techniques, and more. At the University of Maryland, we are actively implementing and further improving upon these advances in our neurosurgical clinics, laboratories, and operating rooms.
