Tahrir Lounge

Tahrir Lounge project was founded, on April 7th, 2011 shortly after the birth of 25th of January revolution with hopes to support democratic values, spread political awareness and empower youth through providing support, cultural exchange and dialogue among civilizations to prepare them for leading Egypts future and thus building an aware tolerant society. Since its inauguration on April 7th, Tahrir lounge has became a political hub that supports the democratization process and is considered as a milestone in the Egyptian-German transformation partnership projects, the projects have been focusing on raising awareness through humanitarian, educational, cultural and environmental approaches and to promote peace and tolerance in all its activities. Preceding from our deep faith in the values of neutrality, responsibility, respect, freedom and transparency, the project aims at creating social and democratic change through: 1. Educating young Egyptians by offering short term programs that increase their awareness on current and future issues and long term training programs that develop their skills to increase their political and social participation. 2. Empowering citizens, initiatives and nongovernmental organizations that are seeking participation, knowledge and opportunities and aligns with the lounge's vision to create social and democratic change by offering resources , networks and capacity building programs.
