Established 1986 by LG and JH Schick the Hamilton based company offered a local cartage and excavation service. Following a name change in 1999 to Schick Construction and Cartage the company was acquired by Pat Peoples in July 2003 when as managing director he instigated a programme of expansion into the wider civil construction market. Recently re-branded to Schick Civil Construction Ltd to celebrate the range of services being undertaken throughout New Zealand; its many clients have watched its growth to now include; earthworks, cartage, local body and highway infrastructure, subdivisions, retaining walls, minor bridge construction and repairs, coastal and river bank protection, stop bank construction, wastewater and stormwater drainage and pumping, water reticulation, siteworks, landscaping and concrete works. Schick Civil have now grown substantially, now with over 200+ staff, 500 items of plant and completing numerous projects $12m+ - we are a major player int he industry.
