Established in 1991, Southern Crushed Concrete (SCC) uses practical and inexpensive methods to produce recycled concrete and asphalt for a variety of construction projects throughout Southeast Texas. Our recycling replaces the need for rock, which must be trucked into the Houston area from distant quarries, making the use of our recycled products efficient and cost effective for a range of projects. In fact, our products help cut construction costs and reduce gasoline usage, traffic congestion and air pollution because our recycling centers use construction waste from the area. This reduces the need to transport new materials and saves approximately 1.5 million cubic yards of landfill space annually. Our company actively participates in many LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) projects because the Federal Government recognizes recycling of concrete as a creditable LEED item. Beyond public and private projects, Southern Crushed Concrete is very active in the community, helping with rubble removal from hurricanes and industrial areas in Houston, as well as building a local little league baseball parking lot at no cost.
