Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca

Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca is the world’s only extensive line of luxury alpaca textiles for the home. The company is based in Healdsburg, California, and Arequipa, Peru. The company was launched in 2006 by Sandra Jordan, a former educator, translator and creative director of Jordan Winery, who had been inspired to create jobs in her native homeland of Peru. While the practice of raising and herding alpaca is the traditional livelihood for many Andean populations, alpaca makes up only 1 percent of the world’s luxury fiber market. In an effort to provide her customers with the rarest and most luxurious Prima Alpaca, Sandra discovered that only 10 percent of that 1 percent was of the quality she could use to create her textiles. As the company grew, Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca came to be known around the world for its strength, beauty and luxurious hand. Sandra has since expanded her already spectacular array of colorful solid and plaid offerings to collections of sheers, bouclés, stripes, textured jacquard weaves and luxurious Suri as well as a bespoke line of handmade custom throws. Since its founding, Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca has been devoted to the community of herdsmen, workers and artisans who manufacture its textiles. The company sponsors living wages and continuing trade education. It also partners with local Peruvian organizations to support medical care, education and research. A percentage of the sale for every Prima Alpaca textile goes to support these efforts. Today Sandra Jordan Prima Alpaca is represented in design showrooms in the US, Europe, Russia, Australia, Taiwan and around the world.
