Sammy D Foundation

The Sammy D Foundation educates young people on the impacts of bullying, violence and alcohol and other drug misuse. By providing relevant age appropriate information, knowledge and tools, the Foundation empowers young people to make positive life decisions for a better community. Our Purpose is to end violence by connecting and empowering young people. Our Aspiration is for all young people to live their best life free from violence. The Foundation was created by husband and wife team Neil Davis and Nat Cook after their 17-year-old son Sam was fatally hit whilst trying to intervene in a fight at a party in 2008. The Foundation has a strong focus on encouraging youth to realise their potential and empower them to make safe and positive life choices, and believes that every young person deserves to be loved, supported and protected. As a result, the Sammy D Foundation delivers three core programs - Impact, True Colours and Party Wise – at junior, primary and high schools, sporting clubs, and community groups. The Foundation also supports at risk young people, through their community mentoring program.
