Recep Tayyip Erdogan University (RTEU) is a public university which was founded in 2006 with the name of "Rize University" (until 11 April 2012). RTEU has 11 faculties, 3 institutes and 7 Scientific Research Centers throughout the Rize area, Turkey. RTEU provides undergraduate and graduate instruction in the social sciences, natural sciences and engineering and nowadays there are nearly 14,000 students studying in the university.
