NEW DAWN NEW DAY LTD believes that all women and girls have the right to reach their potential and to live their lives free from poverty and violence. Through our work we know that women and girls affected by poverty, trauma and abuse have the potential to transform their lives. We support them by providing a safe environment and high quality, gender-responsive, trauma-informed support. We are passionate about what we do. We know it makes a difference. New Dawn New Day has worked to support the well-being of women and girls in Leicester and Leicestershire for over 30 years. We started out as a community-based women’s centre in the 1980s, and we now deliver a range of services to vulnerable and socially excluded women designed to meet their multiple and complex needs. We transform women's lives through... - Community outreach to make contact and engage women in our services - Woman-centred, holistic assessment and planning - One-to-one “key-worker” support, advice and advocacy - Supported and co-ordinated referral for specialist services - A high-quality holistic women’s counselling service, with specialist trauma support - Group programmes which support women to become more confident parents, manage their emotions better, recover from trauma, use arts to work through negative thought patterns and express their creativity - Education and support to help women move into volunteering and employment - Promoting healthy lifestyles - Peer support through our facilitated women’s groups
