Nazareth Housing

Nazareth Housing is a 501c3, not-for-profit, non-sectarian organization with a long and proud history of innovation and advocacy in the field of housing, emergency shelter, and homelessness prevention for low-income families. Founded in 1983, Nazareth Housing is a pioneer in the development of scattered site emergency family shelter for homeless families through its work in urban homesteading and sweat equity. We operate family shelters on the Lower East Side, and opened three buildings in Harlem since 2010. Nazareth Housing has been one of the top performing family shelters among the NYC Department of Homeless Services shelter providers for the past six years. In addition to shelter, Nazareth Housing provides a variety of self-sufficiency education and programming for adults and children, creating a community amongst our clients and advocates.
