Operating for more than 40 years the National Response Centre (NRC) is Australia's most experienced and trusted provider of Emergency Response, Safety Related Business Critical Monitoring and Dispatch Services to all sectors of the Oil and Gas industry including exploration, production, generation, distribution and retailing. Our services are utilised by energy companies, transport and construction sectors and water utilities throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific, Asia and South America. Our sophisticated Melbourne based centre has been designed from the ground up to provide highly reliable 24/7 inbound and outbound call handling and dispatch activities via digital applications, telephone and radio networks. Currently, NRC manages 23 emergency and 15 non-emergency hot lines on behalf of clients, some of which are large and well known national and multinational companies. We are trusted to monitor the welfare and safety of employees undertaking higher risk activities. We have made significant investment in infrastructure, ensuring 100% availability 100% of the time. This includes redundant fibre optic links, UPS power, call routing via multiple exchanges and, just in case, a fully maintained and operational secondary hot-site. We are also on the VICPOL register of critical services. In December 1999, Origin Energy (formerly Boral Energy) acquired the NRC business and secured existing service agreements from the Victorian Government. The NRC brand was established and the business autonomously operates within a strict 'ring fenced' environment and our services were offered to other industry participants. Today NRC maintains a unique and trusted standing amongst the broad energy and energy related industries and is recognised as providing vital services to organisations striving for zero harm environments.
