Mariposa Kids' mission is to support and inspire children’s natural curiosity and independence through free play during their out-of-school time. We envision vibrant communities that support the social emotional growth of all children through friendship and play. Mariposa Kids offers free play based programming including our After-School Program, Holiday Camps, and Summer Camps. Our programs are centered around: Safe Space - Free Play - Community. Combining unstructured play time with engaging planned activities that take place both inside and outside help children develop their social emotional skills while exploring the world around them. Our programs serve children ages 5-11 out of the SF Rec & Park clubhouse on the James Rolph Jr. Park & Playground in the Mission District of San Francisco. The Kids Co-op Inc. DBA Mariposa Kids is a registered 501(c)(3) serving San Francisco's Mission District. The organization was founded in 2012 by Conrad Moore and Amelia McDonald to enhance, sustain, and strengthen communities in the Inner Mission/Bernal Heights neighborhoods through the reinvigoration of underutilized neighborhood resources. Since its founding, the Kids Co-op Inc. DBA Mariposa Kids has served over 600 Mission families through after school activities, toddler caregiver classes, health and fitness classes, and other health and community services.
