majedie asset management was acquired by liontrust asset management plc on 1 april 2022. majedie was established in 2002 and was an independent, employee-owned investment firm offering a focused range of high conviction equity funds invested in shares of publicly quoted companies. majedie concentrated simply on doing what was best for their clients. they had a deep sense of alignment and a shared sense of purpose; they were proud to be building something together for the long term. this approach allowed them to create a highly specialist, free-thinking and collaborative environment, driven by challenge and debate. every team member owned equity in the business and this fostered a culture of long-term thinking and accountability. good performance could never be guaranteed – but as owner-managers they could remove many of those barriers that could ensure the opposite.
