In 1982 The Lafitte Group opened facilities in Napa to process cork and capsules for direct sale to North American customers. This division, known as Lafitte Cork & Capsule, offers corks of the highest quality. Lafitte Cork & Capsule maintains a full inventory of cork grades, lengths, and washes for lot selection. INNOVATION Lafitte California offers a complete range of stock PVC, Polylaminate, Alustar, and Tin capsules at our Napa plant. We can also offer fully customizable capsules manufactured at our facilities in France in a wide array of sizes, colors, and finishes to meet your precise marketing and technical demands. QUALITY Lafitte Cork and Capsule is a founding member of the CQC (Cork Quality Council), which sets stringent standards on corks to be sold in the US market. Since 1995, Lafitte Cork & Capsule has operated a state of the art QC laboratory with an ozone-infused moisturizing room to aid in ensuring cork sterility, the first of its kind in the US. SOLAR INITIATIVE In 2007 Lafitte USA went Solar by installing a 52.4kWDC photovoltaic system with 262 Kyocera KC200GT solar modules. The system generates approximately 75,104 kWh annually, which reduces our annual utility electric expense by approximately 100.0%. According to the EPA, the clean electricity generated by our solar system will reduce atmospheric emissions significantly - the equivalent of 17.5 acres of trees in CO2 absorption!
