The Zenex Foundation is an independent Trust established in 1995 to deliver programmes and projects in Mathematics, Science and Language education in South Africa. Established at the birth of the countrys democracy, the Foundation has a long history of innovation in the education sector and is respected as an independent and influential grant-maker. A deep belief in the proven relationship between language proficiency and success in Mathematics and Science is the driver behind the Foundations ongoing and significant contributions to improving Mathematics, Science and Language teaching and learning in South African schools. The Zenex Foundation has four core programmes around which it carries out work, namely the Systemic Programme, the Schools Programme, the Research and Development Programme and the Sector-Strengthening Programme. The Foundation operates on the basis of strong partnerships with stakeholders, including education departments, donors, service providers, higher education institutions, researchers and schools that share the Foundations vision of skilled and empowered young people who can contribute towards the growth and development of South Africa. Vision & Mission The mission of the Zenex Foundation is to contribute to improved education outcomes for historically disadvantaged learners in South Africa, through flexible funding, evidence-based interventions and strategic partnerships. More specifically, our primary goal is the achievement of improved learner performance in Mathematics, Science and Language. Our secondary goal is to contribute to the strengthening of the enabling environment to achieve improved learning outcomes. We passionately believe that these goals will take us closer to our vision of skilled and empowered young people who can contribute towards the growth, development and democratisation of South Africa.
