Fastrack into Information Technology (FIT) is a representative organisation of the technology sector committed to growing Ireland’s tech talent pipeline, and the National Co-ordinator of an exciting and growing suite of Technical Apprenticeship programmes. Since its establishment in 1999, FIT continue to work in close collaboration with national education and training provision, national and regional development agencies and community organisations. FIT is committed to the socio-economic transformation of marginalised jobseekers and disadvantaged communities through innovative ICT training courses as a gateway to employment. It supports those jobseekers that are at risk of, or already experiencing long term unemployment and early school leavers from disadvantaged communities. In total over 250,000 job seekers have completed FIT skills development programmes to date, of which 120,000 have secured quality employment. The adoption of the Tech Apprenticeship programme has been phenomenal, with 850+ Tech Apprentices placed nationwide and with 250+ Corporates, SME’s and Government departments availing of this new tech talent pipeline.
