Mission: To help people bring more silence, reflection and beauty into their lives. Method: This is accomplished through creating space and time to explore and reflect on silence and stillness in our lives in a group setting. We hold contemplative events and retreats for people to attend together. The group atmosphere creates a community of accountability and shared interest that will lend to a higher likelihood of continued practice. We also provide an artistic platform for reflection on contemplation and mindfulness through developing theme-related art, photo stories and a blog. Motivation: Living in contemplative peace is counterintuitive in our modern world that tends to value movement and doing. In a world that is so consumed with busyness, it can be really easy and tempting not to take time for silence and stillness in our lives. There is a lot of good that comes from stillness. Healing, connection to your true spirit, and to God. Being. Just Being. Sitting and listening. Unwinding. These are all things we can forget in our world that rushes on around us. Silence and stillness can help us feel centered, strong and connected to the beauty and goodness that exists in our lives. There are some very simple ways we can start living from a place of silence and peace, and we do not need to live in the confines of a monastery on a daily basis to incorporate these practices into our lives. The Beauty Gatherer was founded by Sandi Piorek, MBA.
