The Ballarat International Foto Biennale Inc (BIFB) is a not for profit organisation presenting a monthlong biennial festival of contemporary photography in the historical city of Ballarat, in regional Victoria. BIFB comprises of two major exhibition programs including the Core Program, curated biennale exhibition of 20 leading Australian and international photographic artists, presented in eight heritage buildings in Ballarat. The Core Program is complimented by an open entry Fringe Program, a citywide presentation of over 200 artists staged in more than 80 venues including cafes and galleries, throughout project spaces, and across public sites. These exhibitions are complemented by an extensive Events Program that encourages the active participation of the general public and photographic practitioners of all levels through its program of workshops, seminars, audiovisual projections, masterclasses, artist floortalks, portfolio reviews, an education program and photographic competitions and prizes.
