Our History Formally known as WH Location Services that began in 1980, Abaxa’s dedication to subsurface detection began in 1996 when Abaxa’s owner Michael Ward identified the industry need for experienced utility location technicians for a wide-range of services, especially in the excavation stages of construction projects. Abaxa later became one of Telstra’s first accredited locating companies and today operates as an accredited locating company for most major utility companies in Western Australia.
